Small Batch Apple Donuts

Though we haven't hit those crisp Fall temperatures here, I like to imagine it's cool outside while I enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a light and fluffy apple donut. These donuts are perfect to make with your little one (or by yourself). They come together quickly, bake in less than 15 minutes and because it's a small-batch, you won't feel like you are drowning in mounds of donuts (although, maybe that wouldn't be the worst thing.....)

Apple Donuts with Apple Glaze Yield: 6 donuts

Donut Batter ¾ cup all-purpose flour ¾ teaspoons baking powder ¼ teaspoons granulated salt ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon ¼ cup butter, softened ½ cup brown sugar 1 egg ¼ teaspoons vanilla extract ¼ cup Simply Apple juice 1/8 cup milk

Glaze 6 teaspoons Simply apple 1 cup Powdered sugar

1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a 6-cavity donut pan with baking non-stick spray. Set aside. 2. In a bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Set aside. 3. In a large bowl mix together the butter and brown sugar until smooth. 4. Add the egg and vanilla into the butter mixture and mix until incorporated. 5. Mix in half of the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Then mix in all of the juice and milk. Finally, stir in the remaining dry ingredients only until incorporated. 6. Place in the oven for 11 – 13 minutes. A toothpick will come out clean when they are done. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 3 minutes before flipping them out onto a cooling rack to cool completely. 7. Once the donuts are completely cooled, whisk together the glaze ingredients. Spoon, pipe or spread the glaze over the donuts. The glaze will drip off the sides and that’s okay!
