Refueling

Updated: Nov 26, 2018

Any other parents out there that get excited to see their kid open up that present that you thought would wow them but they're more interested in the box, paper or packing than the actual toy? Yeah, me too! Maybe we just need to give them simple ways to express themselves instead of just more toys. Our son has been spending the last week+ playing with paper airplanes my husband made for him. Hours of throwing them around the house. But there's a problem, I have no idea how to fold one for him myself! 100 Paper Airplanes to Fold and Fly to the rescue! This book has been a lifesaver. With 100 planes to rip out and 4 different folding styles it will be a long time before we ever have to go back to boring plain paper planes again. Plus there are step-by-step directions on how to fold each style!

After dozens of flights, it's time to refuel with plane shaped croissant hot dogs! Plane-Shaped Croissant Hot Dogs Yield: 7 airplanes; 9 traditional croissant hot dogs 2 (8 ounces each) tubes croissant dough 16 little hot dogs (or a few larger hot dogs cut up) 1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare two baking sheets with parchment paper or a silpat sheet. Dust one of the baking sheet's paper or sheet with flour. Set the second baking sheet aside. 2. Unroll one tube of croissant dough onto the floured baking sheet. Dust dough with flour and, using a rolling pin, roll out the dough until it is about 12" x 14". Using a plane cookie cutter (mine measures 4 1/2" x 4"), cut out 7 planes. Remove the scrap dough between them (I don't like waste so I cook this dough as well). 3. On a separate working surface unroll the second tube of croissant dough. Cut each triangle into two long triangles. 4. Roll one triangle around one hot dog. Take one rolled hot dog and place it on the airplane cutout. Complete the rest of the airplanes.

5. On the second, unfloured baking sheet, place the remaining croissant dogs evenly spaced. This are going to be for you! 6. Place both baking sheets in the oven and cook for 12 minutes or until golden.
